How do I get Outlook to say you have mail when opening program

Outlook on my laptop announces that I have mail. I want my desk top to do
the same thing. How can I do it. I have office 2003 in both computers.

Do you have AOL installed on one and not the other - that's usually the
program responsible for that sound. But all you really need is the wav file
and associate it to new mail sound in Control panel's Sound applet.

it should use the you've got mail file then - on the computer where it
works, look for the file name and then set the other computer to use the
file by that name. look in control panel, sounds and audio devices (in the
sounds category in winxp).
