How do I get Outlook 2007 display profiles at startup?

After a few startups, Outlook 2007 no longer shows the choose profile dialog
and goes to the last profile used every time it starts. If I log out & then
in again, or restart, then it's okay for a few startups. I'm using Vista
Business.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Start > Control Panel ( Change to classic View )
Mail > (select) prompt for profile to use.

There is another way to do this, but it's mostly only useful if you generally
use one profile but occasionally want to choose from some others (which is
what I do).

I have one 'normal' Outlook shortcut set up, then another with the following
command line:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /profiles

You can also substitute "/profiles" for "/profile myprofilename" if you want
a shortcut to load a specific profile.

Hi Henry,

Fancy finding you in here, lol.

I keep seeing what you've suggested as the way to create/edit profiles, but
MY control panel (Vista Ultimate) does NOT have a "Mail" icon. In all my
googling on this (hence finding your post) all I've seen about this is that
the icon doesn't appear until you've run Outlook at least once, and I've run
Outlook MANY times & the icon STILL doesn't appear.

Any ideas?

OMG!!

I found the answer - honestly it's WEIRD what Microsoft do sometimes!

"Can't find mail icon" - I include that so others searching for the same
answer may find it.

The instructions you & everyone else has been saying applies to 32-bit Vista.

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit & the Mail icon is now located in "view
x86 control panel icons" located in the control panel.

I diddn't even SEe that option even though I THOUGHT I'd scanned EVERY
control panel icon (I guess I was looking for something mail-related, lol)

Already posted numerous times.

I'm lurking in lots of dark corners lately.
Looking to see what Gotchas people are coming up with on all the new O/Ss
Applications -before- I or the clients hit them.

....but as always I feel obliged to answer 3 questions for each one I ask, or
if I can free the App experts to answer the top end questions by answering
some of the simpler ones while perusing through I do.

Bit like your 64/32 Control panel observation...
Thanks for the Head's up.

Thank you Brian for your "helpful" post, but it took me AGES to find this so
I was trying to help others spend less time if they needed to find it too.
Perhaps if people like you spent more time HELPING people instead of posting
inane comments that help nobody it would be easier to find.

You're very welcome..
