How do I get mail to my inbox without pressing send/receive?

If I receive an email I can't see it until I hit send/receive everytime. Is
there a way of configuring outlook so incoming mail appears without having to
do this?
 
tools :: options :: mail setup (tab2) :: send/receive

schedule it to send/receive every 1 - 3 mins should do the trick.

WAY too short. The recommended minimum send/receive interval is 10 minutes.
