You need to set up a polling time.
Do Tools-Send/Receive-Send/Receive Settings-Define Send/Receive Groups and
set a time at the bottom. Received wisdom says this interval should not be
less than about ten minutes, otherwise the mail server gets in a pickle...
No NO NO!!!!
ONE minute is FAR TOO FREQUENT.
That will not allow the mail server to process ANY packets.
It must be much more than that. The default used to be 10 minutes but I
notice recently in installing Outlook 2007 the default has been set at 30
minutes...
If you set the time less than ten minutes (you MAY get away with 5, but ten
is safer) then you run into the risk of the mail server not processing data
packets properly before the next "send/receive" request comes along. This
usually results in "sever not available" error messages.
