how do i get information about embedd pictures in word document

my friend wrote a microsoft word (Office 2003) file with pictures embedded,
somehow the pictures are lost and now there's a big X sign indicating the
pictures are missing. how do i get information about those embedd pictures
etc. link, location, size...

plz help me

Are the pictures embedded or linked? A red X suggests that the
pictures are linked, and the link source is not available. If
you press Alt+F9 to display field codes, then for each picture
there should be either an EMBED field or a LINK field showing the
link source.

thanx! though it didn't help me getting the pics back, now i can see the link
source & i can update it again...tq
