Without a proper XP CD, you can't do a repair install. Contact the
manufacturer for a possible solution, but they are not obligated to supply
more than the restore disks you mentioned.
If you need to recover your Windows XP installation the OEM supplied
recovery CDs will allow you to reinstall the machine to as shipped form the
factory. They MAY allow you to do a repair install. See your OEM
documentation for details of the functionality of the recovery CDs.
If they are not what you require then contact the OEM to discuss the
possibility of them supplying you with a full OEM CD of Windows XP - NOTE:
They are under no obligation to do this if they supplied you with recovery
CDs.
