how do I get a "read" receipt?

I know there is a way of getting an email acknowledgement that an email was
received and read but I can't figure out how to do it. Help!
 
Tools->Options->Email Options->Tracking options. Note, not all mail clients
can send read receipts and many can decline to send them.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, caststeel asked:
