How do I format Word to not capitalize the first word of each new.

I am frustrated with the automated program of Word when I do a hard return.
It capitalizes the first letter of the first word on the new line. In wrting
poetry or prose with an unusual format, for appearance only, I can not seem
to find out how to turn off this automated feature. Can someone help me?

Use a line break (Shift+Enter) instead of a paragraph break. This is the
correct approach for poetry: line breaks for verse endings within a stanza,
paragraph breaks at the ends of stanzas. That makes each stanza a paragraph
and allows you (if you desire) to format short stanzas as "Keep lines
together" so they won't be broken across pages.
