How do I force read-only when hyperlinking to password to modify .

B

Bob MacKie

Using PowerPoint 2003

I am hyperlinking from an non-password protected PowerPoint presentation to
a separate password to modify PowerPoint Presentation. The read-only or enter
password always comes up and spoils the smooth presentation. Can I force the
read-only somehow?

The idea is that a user can tailor their editable presentation and choose
which hyperlinks to use but the individual learning object presentations
should not be able to be modified.

Thanks.

Have you tried forcing the passworded files to open in the viewer?

Set an action of Run Program and add the path to the viewer and the path to
the file

Might look like this:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\PPTVIEW.EXE "C:\Documents and
Settings\John\Desktop\test.ppt"
