How do I fix outlook from repeating message downloads. (4-20 per)

My outlook has started to repeat the download of messages into my inbox from
my pop3 account. 4-20 copies of each messgae. Nothing has changed, don't
know what is causing it and can't seem to find a fix anywhere. Any info
would be greatly appreciated. I am a consultant, and have consulted with two
colleagues, neither of whom have been able to find a solution. PLEASE HELP!!
It's going nuts...P.S. It also repeats the send also...people are receiving
the multiples as well.

If you are using an AV or Firewall configured to scan incoming/outgoing
email, disable that part of the program. It is redundant, does nothing for
security, and causes a myriad of problems, most exactly like you are
describing.
