How do I find the service pack level from before the update?

I want to find out what service pack this copy of xp was installed with, it
currently says service pack 2 but I can't find the disk and need to
re-install so I need to see which release my oem key goes to.

The key is not associated with the service pack level but with the type
(flavour) of XP ie Home, Pro, Retail, OEM.

The CD should say what service pack it is, if it is NOT SP2 then you
may have to uninstall SP2 if you are doing a repair install, of course,
if you are going to delete the partition and reformat then you do not
need to uninstall SP2.
