How do I find the history (a list) of what's been installed on my XP
computer?

Ones that a user installed can be viewed in the
Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.
 
Yes, thanks, but I'm wondering about those download-installations (Microsoft
patches, Real Player, etc.)?
