How do I fill an object made out of lines in Power Point?

I have made an object out of lines from the drawing toolbar in PowerPoint and
want to fill it, but it won't let me when I go to format autoshape. I have
tried using connector lines as well and that hasn't worked. I have also
grouped these lines and they appear to be a single entity. I assume that the
points aren't "locked" or something along those lines, but Power Point help
hasn't given me any suggestions. How can I fill such an object?

Use the freeform tool in autoshapes > lines

Click at a corner, release the mouse button, move to the next corner and
click again. Keep going till you close the shape. Hope that makes sense!

Thank you - I knew it would be something basic like that just didn't realize
it would be the freeform tool for a straight line.
