How do I exit Outlook so that it's not running down in the system.

I need to switch profiles often in Outlook, but many times when I exit
Outlook, it keeps running in the background down in the system tray. I can't
get it to quit without rebooting. Sometimes it really exits, and sometimes it
doesn't . There doesn't seem to be a pattern. Please help. :)

Do you have a PDA in the craddle at time of Outlook shutdown? (also look
for any application that utilizes Outlook data. eg. Fax, Antivirus, addins
like stamps.com)

Do you use Word as your e-mail editor and is Word still running after
shutting Outlook down? (Word caches an instance of Outlook to speed up
e-mail composition.)

I may have had the PDA in - and I have Word running often. I closed Word and
took the PDA off, and it's still down there. So I opened Outlook and exited
again. It still is there!! AAaaargh!

<lol> well, you can use http://sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout/ to force
outlook out of the picture. however i would still look at what applications
and 3rd party outlook addins are installed. something is holding onto
outlook and doesn't want to let it exit gracefully.
