how do i enable java capabilities for my browser

trying to work out and reset a linksys router but they
say i need to enable java cababilities on my browser.
Can someone tell me how to do that
 
Under Tools/Internet Options/Advanced. Make sure there is
a checkmark in 'JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled'
under Microsoft VM.
