How do I embed MID files into a PPT and play them?

Why can't you embed and play MID files in PPT? (or if you can, then how...)

I am creating PPTs for my wife for her teaching and other teachers would
like to get a copy of the PPTs, but without the MID playing (authentic
ancient egyyptian music) - the PPTs loose their empact on the elementary
students.

This should help you do what you want.

MID files cannot be embedded into PowerPoint. What you want to do is put
the MID files in the same folder as your PowerPoint file and then relink
the sounds. Next, you need to send the whole folder, not just the PPT
file so the sounds will be included. I think Michael meant to send you
this link instead of the one he sent you:

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation

David your possibly quite correct. But, after reading the original post, the
subject line is the reverse of what is asked for in the text. In the
original text that it be without the MID file playing.

So if I convert the MID to a WAV and then add the WAV to the PPT, it will
embed it into the PPT and I can give out the single file to encompass all
aspects...

I need to make the setup as simple and failsafe as possible – these are
elementary school teachers that I am talking about.

Yes, if you convert to a WAV and the file size of the WAV is smaller than
what you set in PowerPoint's settings, it will embed into the file and
probably not have a problem playing at the other end.
