how to embed .mid file into a .PPS file

I have an 8kb .mid file that I do not want to link, but I want to embed it
into a .pps file. I want the .mid file to automatically play when the .pps
file is opened. It let's me link it to a file on my hard drive, but I am
sending this .pps file out to others and then that link breaks.

You can't embed a .mid file. Instead, make a folder, then put the ppt and
midi to that folder. Next, re-insert the midi into the presentation. Lastly,
zip the folder using WinZip or WinRaR and send it through email.

I saved the .mid file in the same folder as the .ppt and .pps file. I
reinserted it into the .ppt file and resaved this as a .pps file. I zipped
it up with winzip and sent it to myself via e:mail. Now when I click on it,
it asks me with file I want to unzip. If I unzip the .pps file, it will not
play the .mid file. All I really want is a .pps file to automatically launch
and play the .mid file.

When you zip, did you zip the folder or file? You should zip the entire
folder, so that when you unzip, you will still get back the original folder.
By zipping only the ppt file, you will not be able to play it since midi
can't be embeded.

How about unzipping? Did you unzip everything and not just the .pps?
You might want to consider sending the zipped file to my email for checking,
pptheaven[AT]gmail[DOT]com. replace [AT] with @ and [DOT] with .

I believe I heard the sound.
Unzip the whole thing first, you MUST get the entire folder out and not just
the extracting the .pps alone.

I feel like an idiot. When I doubleclick on the zipped folder, it brings up
three files and asks what do I want to do with which one?

You have zipped the folder. Now, if you open the zip file, you can see three
files inside, but not the folder. Click on extract icon. When prompt, select
all files and click on desktop to allow it to unzip to the desktop.

It's now on my desktop, but when I double click on it, it still prompts me to
choose what I want to open. The music now plays, but not until the ending of
the whole thing and I want it to play in the beginning.

The 'play' effect was set at the last, after all the animations. Hence, you
will only hear the music after all the animations have finished. I have fixed
it for you. Please check your email.
