Chris

From within the Admin account I created a Limited temporary account
(Temp) in order to try to resolve some problems I am experiencing. I
have subsequently deleted the Temp account, taking the option to delete
all of Temp's files. When I then re-create the Temp account I find
it is still picking up settings from the deleted account. I presume
there must be some settings somewhere (Registry?) that are not
deleted/reset when I delete the Temp account. How can I delete all
traces of the Temp account? I realise I could create yet another
temporary account with a different name, but I'd prefer to be able to
eliminate all traces of the original Temp account. For some reason
Windows restore to a point before I created the Temp account is not an
available option.

TIA.

Chris.

Also,

Auto Delete Temporary Folder
http://www.tweakxp.com/display.aspx?id=2021
First go into gpedit.msc ( only available in the Pro version of XP )

Next select -> Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates >
Windows Components > Terminal Services > Temporary Folder

Then right click "Do Not Delete Temp Folder Upon Exit"

Go to properties and hit disable.

Now next time Windows puts a temp file in that folder it will
automatically delete it when its done!

I have WinXP Home, and have tried manually deleting the contents of the
Temp folder, and edittig the associate index.dat file, but to no avail.

Make sure nothing is open or use Safe Mode.

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your
keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple
operating systems, you can press the F8 key when you the Boot Menu
appears.
2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and
then press ENTER.
3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe
Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that
you want to start, and then press ENTER.
