How do I download older version firmware for TDK CD Player

I purchased a TDK 88N DVD player and installed into my PC everything worked
great. Then I got this stupid idea about updating the firmware from 1.34 to
1.36 and my computer would not boot, not even into safe mode. I took the DVD
out and all was fine. I wrote TDK and the gave me a link where I can
download the older version . How do I install it, if I can't get the
computer to boot with the DVD installed???? Can I install the DVD cable and
power cord while the computer is on? Any help for this grandpa is
appreciated.......Opa Peter

Hi Peter,

I strongly suspect the drive is toast - did you follow recommendations to do
this in safe mode and disable DMA before flashing? If you boot with the
drive connected, is it seen correctly in the BIOS?

Hello Rick......I had the guts to try the install again, just hook up the
wires I mean and reboot. It worked again, I can't figure it out. I tried 5
or 6 times before, and it didn't work. I did update some stuff from MS
Update, and maybe it had something to do with it. I appreciate your reply
anyway. It scared me a little, because I didn't do the update in Safe mode,
and I didn't disable the DMA either. Next time I will be more
careful..............Peter
