Replacing newer Korean version with older English version

I am in Korea and have just purchased a new notebook computer with a Korean
version of XP Home on it. I can't use the Korean version and was able to find
an English version of XP Pro, but it is an older version, 2001 I believe
(hard to find current versions in English out here). I tried to install it
from boot but it seems that this older version of XP Pro does not have the
correct hard and floppy disk drivers so installation quits. I tried to
install directly from the cd once Korean windows had booted and all drivers
were loaded, but it says that my English version is older than the current
Korean version and won't install it.

Options?

Ok, so if i make an xp boot disk, format the hard disk, and then go to
install the new english xp pro, i will still run into the same problem that
this older version of xp pro does not have the right drivers for the harddisk
or floppy and so the system wont be able to find a hard disk and the new xp
wont install.

All the drivers are on the recovery disk that came with the laptop, but i
assume that an OS has to be on the computer before drivers can be installed
from cd.
