having korean in pc

hi
i just bought a laptop that has windows XP in english.
i would like to know how to download korean in to my pc.
i could type korean and i could read korean from internet.
but when i downloaded a korean program, i couldnt type korean. the words got
cracked up.
also when i download a korean named file. in to my desktop the names are
like ???? or +_+_+++ some thing like that.
i tried to reinstall the XP but it said that the XP version in my laptop is
higher then the XP verison in the CD rom.
do i need to download anything?
do i need to reinstall everything?
can you please help me??

Control Panel/Regional and Language options, on the languages tab click the4
box to install support for east asian languages.
