How do I dispaly the task pad view in the Calendar?

I am trying to display the calendar and task pad side by side as I did in
previous version. I select taskpad view from the menu but it does nothing.
Please be sure to thank microsoft for making this feature so much easier to
find than in the last version.
 
In Outlook 2003, I was able to display the Task Pad by moving my mouse near
the right side of the calendar (in Month View) until my cursor changed then I
simply clicked and dragged to the left exposing the Task Pad along with a
four-month calendar above it. I hope this helps.
