How do I disable Telenet

Have subsribed to service called DSL Reports that does an online
attempt at penetrating my PC, the issues a grade. I get a low, or
very vulnerable grade due to reported outside access to my PC through
Telnet, and some other ports that are a mystery to me.

I use V-Com's Security Suite's incorporated firewall, and it reports
all is secure, and discounts DSL Reports findings. Puzzled by this
conflict.

Been unable to find any literature on how to disable Telnet when not
in use.

All replys appreciated here.
 
Doesn't your service provider (DSL Reports) provide you guidance?

In any event, see the Services applet in Control panel and turn off the
Telnet Service.
