log I had installed a video driver for ATI Radeon 9800 pro
had problems on restart and firewall failed to start I
received the nt authority shutdown error this i believe
allowed me to be infected with some type of worm virus
(msblaster)i contacted the 1-866-pcsafety after contacting
my computer manufactured they also thought i was
infected. i was advised the download and install
WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU this was to repair the damage
the virus caused still unable to launch applications like
Microsoft Internet Explorer and MSN browser. I was
advised to use msconfig to remove startup programs that
maybe causing resource type conflicts so i started to
remove the programs one by one until i ran into problems
with a blank start up item with no command or location and
would uncheck it and the system would hang during shut
down and would have to hard boot system by forcing power
off and this has also happended on other programs that i
can not remove from startup anyone else had these or
related issues.
