After being advised to install a firewall I notice that some of my regular
daily e-mail subscriptions no longer appear when opening the Inbox.
I may be wrong in assuming the firewall is the problem. I have forgotten how
I activated the firewall so don't know how to remove it.

Help!

Hey Ray,

To Disable the Windows Xp Firewall, follow the instructions below:

1. Select my My Network Places, right click and choose Properties

2. Select your connection (example Local Area Connection) right click and
choose Properties.

3. After it loads, choose the Advanced Tab. When you arrive untick "Internet
Connection Firewall".

Most probably that would do the trick!

Jose Francisco

Your firewall would not be interfering with only some emails. It
might, depending on configuration settings, block your attempts to
connect to the mail server but that would result in no emails of any
kind being received.

Your mailing list problems are being caused by something else. When I
have problems such as this I usually send an inquiry about recent
traffic on the list to the list administrator or to someone else I
know that is also on the list.

Good luck
