how do i delete unwanted emails without opening them?

am having trouible deleting unwqnted emails, considering all the viruses that
come our way.
 
what happens when you try to delete them? what method are you using to
delete them? what version of outlook?

We can't see what you are doing - so give us a bit more information.
Specifically - answer the questions I raised.
