How do I delete selected text? I don't see(find) an edit delete

Where is the "delete" in Word 2007? It was in the edit menu in Word 97. I
just wanted to delete a section of selected text.

Hi,

Did you try pressing the Delete key on your keyboard?

If you want to replace the selected text, you can just start typing the new
text. By default, the old text will be deleted automatically.
