How do i delete a background

hi i am trying to delte backgrounds that i have put on my cp off of the web,
i am going into the control panel and then to display and then under the
backgrounds coloumn i can click in one, but when i right click a little
message just comes up and says what is this?, i am trying to delete them, but
i cant ..nothings been able to work or help me
