How do I date sort tasks in personal folders view in Outlook?

In task pane I can sort by date. In Personal Folders pane, where calendar,
tasks, and messages are seen, the tasks always re-appear with oldest date
first and I want earliest date first.

I do click on the date column header but it still doesn't seem to list my
earliest tasks first. What am I doing wrong?

I am referring to Personal Folders--Outlook Today. When I go there (by
clicking mail tab in navigation pane) I continue to find tasks listed latest
first and I want earliest first. - I can and do do sort by date the way I
want in task pane, but still, when I go to Personal Folders -- Outlook Today,
it still comes up backwards = latest first. -- How can I explain this better?
