I do click on the date column header but it still doesn't seem to list
my earliest tasks first. What am I doing wrong?

clicking mail tab in navigation pane) I continue to find tasks listed
latest first and I want earliest first. - I can and do do sort by date
the way I want in task pane, but still, when I go to Personal Folders
