How do I create an email address in Outlook so that I can receive.

I currently receive my email messages through aol. I have previously used
outlook and really prefer its email system. AOL offers the opportunity for
users to receive their messages in Outlook. However, the directions advise
that I must first create an Outlook email address. How do I do this?
