How do I convert text to endnote?

I somehow typed as normal MS Word 2003 text material that I wanted to place
in an endnote. But when I try to copy and paste the material into the
endnote, it remains in standard Word characters (format, I guess), rather
than in endnote format (smaller font, etc). I am amazed to encounter such a
problem! I thought that copy and paste (followed by deletion of the
wrong-format version of the material) would work fine! Thanks to whomever for
telling me how to perform the conversion I wish to. Neil

Select the text in the end note and press CTRL+Space to remove any manual
formatting and revert to the underlying Endnote Text style.

If the selected text included paragraph marks, very likely a lot of it is
not in Endnote Text style, which would be the problem.

But this could easily be fixed: Switch to Normal view, then display endnotes
(View | Footnotes). Select all the text in the endnote area and apply the
Endnote Text style.
