How do I convert or use a word 95 text document in office word 200

I have old word 95 documents that I wish to update and use in office word
2003. However, my converter will not change them. I tried to find a
download but was not successful. I am visually impaired and sometimes have a
difficult time finding things on the Internet. I would appreciate your
assistance.
 
Word 95 docs are RTF format and Word should be able to open these.
See if you can open them in Word Pad.
I trust you are not trying to open them directly from floppy disc? Copy to
the hard drive first.
