I need to know how to convert my microsoft word files to word perfect before
I send them out. I have added wpd to the document when I save it, but the
people at the other end say it is not being received in word perfect.

Adding the extension wpd does not make convert a Word file into a WordPerfect
file. To save in WordPerfect format, use File > Save As, and under Save as
type, select one of the WordPerfect options.

Alternately, you can save the file in Rich Text Format (RTF), which can be
opened in virutally any wordprocessing program (File > Save As, and under
Save as type, select "Rich Text Format")

I have to occasionally go back and forth between Word and WP for certain
projects. Yes you can convert, both ways, but the conversion is not great.
You may find that some of your formatting might not make the transition. I
have not tried RTF but next time I will.
