How do I convert songs from a CD that I've loaded onto my
computer into MP3s that I can play on an MP3 player or
send to friends?

I would try to visit download.com and download a CD
Ripper into MP3.

It is in no way illegal ro rip a CD. If you own the CDs, you can do what you
want with them. You can rip them, you can make copies, you can flush it down
your toilet. But you can't give other people the copies (or digital tracks),
and you can't sell them.
