How do I compress pst file?

I have deleted more then half of the messages and emptied the Deleted
folder, yet the pst file is still the original size. How do I compress it?

You have not compressed anything. Deleting an entry within the .pst
file only marks it with a status of "Deleted" so Outlook [Express] will
no longer show it, but the item still physically exists within the file
until you purge all delete-marked items. That is how many databases
work. You will need to purge the delete-marked items from the database,
which means you have to compact the message store. Lookup "compact" in
Outlook's own help; it will tell you how to compact your message store
(another route is to right-click on the root folder and select
Properties to find the option to compact that message store).
