How do I choose the profile which is to be used to send my e-mail

I have configured Two e-mail id's with my MS Outlook 2000 and I want to be
able to choose the profile (e-mail) when sending a message
Can anyone tell me if its possible

I think you mean account instead of profile. Use the Accounts button or the
dropdown on the send button to select the account (depends on your
configuration).

I guess you are right in saying "Accounts" instead of profile.
I am using OUTLOOK 2000 and I could not find the option of choosing account
when sending a message.
Also I could not find any drop down next to the send button.
I was reading some messages related to the subject and I noted a reply to
question which suggested that OUTLOOK uses the same account when sending the
message as was used to receive it.
This is exactly whats NOT happening in the way I have configured my two
e-mail accounts
