How do I change the startup folder in Outlook to an IMAP folder?

How do I change the startup folder from the Outlook Today Inbox to the
IMAP Inbox?

I am using IMAP and I would like to have Outlook open up in the IMAP
folders instead of the "Outlook Today" folders. How can I do this?
Can I delete the "Outlook Today" folder? How?

Thanks in Advance.

Not possible, unless you use a third-party IMAP provider like InsightConnector that uses a different kind of proxy PST file.

In this dialog you can select your imap-folder as startup folder

An IMAP account can never be the default delivery location. Thus, you'll
require a PST as well and that PST will be "Outlook Today" where your
calendar, contacts, tasks, and so on reside. You can't get rid of it.

I am using Outlook 2000 which is a bit different and none of the imap
folder shows up.

Sorry, I mean this path too, but I have no english outlook, so I am
sometimes not sure about the correct names of the options. Therefore it
unfortunately occurs that I name them wrong :-(.

I just checked this with Outlook 2003 and my IMAP folders show up at the end
of the list under the IMAP account name. I selected one of te IMAP folders
and then stopped and restarted Outlook. The IMAP folder was the starting
folder. So, in other words, perhaps it was fixed between OL 2000 and now.

I'm assuming you've installed Outlook in Internet Mail Only mode or you
wouldn't even be able to define an IMAP account.
