How do I change the scale for a graph?

I am trying to modify an existing powerpoint slide. I can't seem to be able
to change the data range in a bar chart. I have added a higher value item
and it isn't scaling properly. As a resuly, it does not show as taller than
the next tallest value.

As well, the label for this bar does not show either.

Click the axis. In the menu, choose Format Selected Axis. Then type in the
number you want for the maximum on the Scale tab. On the first tab
(Patterns), choose the radio button for "tick mark labels next to axis."
