How do I change the print defaults in PowerPoint 2007?

I maintain a student computer lab and I want to change the print defaults for
PowerPoint 2007 on all computers in the lab, but every time I close the
program it reverts to the initial defaults. For example, if I change "Print
what:" from "Slides" to "Handouts" it will keep that change for the current
session, but will revert to "Slides" the next time the program is opened.
 
AFAIK this can only be done on a presentation by presentation basis through
Office button -> PowerPoint Options -> Advanced -> When printing this
document -> Use the following print settings.
