how do I automtically get alerted when a new email is received

I have to click on "send/receive" to know when I receive new mail messages. I
would like to be alerted automatically.

please go to TOOLS|OPTIONS|MAIL SETUP|SEND/RECEIVE
There you can activate the options you need.

plus if you are looking at the notification that as well you can do
