Start > Run > Enter control userpasswords2

Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."

Apply

A small box will pop up asking you for the account and password to be
automatically entered each time XP starts.

I killed the obnoxious Welcome screen before I set up auto login by going to
Control Panel > User Accounts > "Change the way users log on or off" and
unchecking "Use the Welcome screen."

Thanks...just what I was looking for. Is this the only way to get to this
control as this doesn't seem to be an option un control panel..or at least I
couldn't find it.

Hi,

Download and install TweakUI for XP

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

There is an option within to do this for you. No need to take the risk
of editing the registry, and it is easy to undo should your other
users return

Actually, it's much easier to fix than downloading software:

Start-->Run--> type in:
control userpasswords2
....and click "OK".
When the User Accounts window pops up, uncheck the box next to "Users
must enter a name and password to use this computer."
Click "OK".
You're done.

Downloading and installing TweakUI is fine, but if you'd use it just for
this purpose, it's really not necessary.
