I am using Outlook 2002 and am not able to reply to my e-mails. I keep
getting a message that says "550 Please configure your mail client to use
authentication. Please help I don't know how to do this.
Thanks alot.

Tools | email accounts | View or Change | Next | <accountname> | Choose
Change | More Settings | Outgoing server | "My outgoing server (SMTP)
requires authentication" (use same settings as my incoming mail server).

Take a look here for those settings: Tools menu > Email accounts >
View/Change existing accounts > Click Next > Highlight an account > Click
Change > Click More Settings > Outgoing Server tab

Try this

Tools | Email Accounts | View/Change an existing account | highlight an
account and select change button. From there you select more settings and
go to the outgoing server tab and tick My outgoing server requires
authentication.

Thanks a lot. I finally figured out to fix both e-mail accounts and now it
works

Thanks a lot. I had to fix both e-mail accounts and now it seems to work.

Are you on the same network as the SMTP (outgoing) mail server? Maybe the
error is caused by something other than authentication
