Trying to make a pp, using the elegant animation scheme. In using this, the
lines of text dont appear next until you click it "on".

How do I add a picture that wont appear until I click it "on"? I can add
them now where they are constantly on - which is opposite of what I need.

Click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Select the picture you have added.
Click Add Effect > Entrance > Appear.
The Start setting should be "On Click" by default.
Take note that if you want the picture to appear on the FIRST click, the
appear effect must be in the first ordering. And if you want other stuff to
appear together with the picture, set the rest of the effects as "With
Previous" instead of "On click".
Is that what you want?

Ok, thats it, definetly.

But - I've been trying to figure it out - how do I get it to appear on say
the 4th click. So 3 lines of text come up, then the picture, then 3 more
lines of text, etc.

Thanks so much

Add the appear effect (Click Add effect > Entrance > Appear) on the textbox.
After adding, you should see the appear effect appear on the list.
There is a dropdown arrow. Click on it to display the rest of the appear
effect.
Each effect represent each line.
Re-order the picture's appear effect so that looks something like:

Line 1 - On click
Line 2 - On click / With previous
Line 3 - On click / With Previous
Picture 1 - On click
Line 4 - On click / With Previous
Line 5 - On click / With Previous
Line 6 - On click / With Previous
