How do I add an icon to my bookmark title?

I want an icon to appear next to my web title when someone bookmarks my page.
How do I do that please?

Hi Rob,

Yea, I had stumbled into it by acident, but it is a pretty cool tool, and
since the favicon question comes up daily (it seems), hopefully other people
will be able to find it useful.

Useful advice. I have now got my icon. However, having gone to the microsoft
URL you note, I don'tunderstand the instructions. Specifically, having
created my web in FrontPage, how do I "save the icon in the root directory"?
I don't even know what this means. Can it be explained in simpler language
(e.g. what menu command in FrontPage)?

Save the ico file in the top level folder of your site. In other words, if
you went up one more folder level, you'd be out of the site.
