I'm working in Powerpoint 2000 ? I've added music to other presentations,
but can I have a narrator talk though my presentation. Couold I do this
if I converted my presentation to Flash ? Thanks, Neil

You can do it in PowerPoint subject to your video card's output
capabilities.

Michael, you tall me I can do this, but not how. Do I make a separate audio tape using a mic and then insert it as an audio track ? Can I watch the slide show and record my voice using a mic ? I don't see anything in books or articles other than adding cd tracks. Thanks, Neil

Went back to PP2000 on line help and I think I've found the steps. Sorry,
sometimes I try books, articles and discussion groups and miss the most
obvious source. Cheers, N

TruroNeil (I'm guessing Nova Scotia);

You make the voice over's using your mic and a recording program other than
PowerPoint. I find you get a better quality recording outside of
PowerPoint.. Make individual recordings, not just one as you will never be
able to synchronize it to your presentations. the voice over's will be in
wav file format, and will be embedded once you insert them. Attach each
voice over to an event where you want it to occur. To see how this might
appear look at the online presentation here.

Have you tried Slide Show, Record Narration from the main PPT menu bar?

Be sure to click Change Quality and set appropriate options before you start
recording ... the default settings are for rather poor sound quality (but small
files). You have to re-set the sound quality every time you do this, by the
way.
