How do I activate the "Fillin Fields" in a *.doc after I created t

I created some fillin fields for letters I need to complete. In the past I
would open these doc's, click on the padlock "Protect Document" in the Form
Tool Bar and each field would popup as a dialog box.

When I try the same procedure now, nothing happens. The *.doc's and fields
within, were previously created by me and copied onto my new computer using
Word 2000. Also, these are documents not templates.

It was simple to create and run at the time.

What you describe is not how any Word feature I'm familiar with works. See
the fill-in field tutorial at http://addbalance.com/word/download.htm. You
may actually want to use what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at
