Have you tried the Spacebar? That is usually the key for waking up a system from Standby Mode.

Go into Device Manager and check the Properties for the mouse and/or
keyboard. If there is a Power Management page available, check the box to
allow the device to wake the computer from standby.

I have the same problem as the poster has. I have tried ALL these fixes but
still can't bring the system out of standy except using the Power On switch.
It comes out of standby as per normal but only using the switch. Could it
be a bios problem. I have checed all the settings and nothing seems to
work. I don't mind using the Power On swiych but would rather awaken it
with keyboard or mouse.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Note: This only started with SP-2

Thanks

You might wish to check with the maker of your PC to see if they've
issued a flash BIOS update which may address the problem. Also check
to see if newer drivers are available for video, sound, etc. The
ability to use Standby and come out of Standby has to do with ACPI
compatibility. The installation of SP2 may require updating the
drivers or perhaps even the PC BIOS.

That was going to be my next step but I wanted to check to see if there was
something that I may have missed. Thanks for the suggestion touhg. I
appreciate it very much.
