how do I access subfolders in my contact list when I click "to"

I have my contacts separated into subfolders. When I want to send an email,
I click on "new" and then "To" but my subfolders of contacts do not show. Is
there a way of getting them to show

Display the Folder List, then right click the sub-folder and click
Properties. On the Outlook Address Book tab, Check the box: Show this folder
as an email Address Book.
When you click the To: button, in the Select Names dialog box, select your
sub-folder from the drop-down list in the Show Names from this window.
