How do have my email update automatically w/o a time set?

I am trying to have my email update right away when there is a message sent
to me w/o using the send/receive options or time settings for the
send/receive to check it. Is there a setting to do this? Any help would be
appreciated.

Can you please provide further information such as version of Outlook,
environment such as Exchange, POP3, etc. and any other pertinent details?

It is Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, We have is set up on POP3. If there is
anything more you need, please let me know.

Outlook will not function properly if you set it to check (poll) for new
messages less than every 10 minutes or so. And, yes, you must set a
polling time (how often you want Outlook to check for new messages) to
have it check at all.
