How do clear reminders in outlook when appointment deleted?

On startup of outlook I am presented with long list of reminders for
appointments ocurring in the past.
Tried clearing them by deleting the past appointments but the reminder list
still appears on re-entering outlook.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

First thing to try is to start Outlook once with the /cleanreminders switch.
From Start Menu's run box enter:
Outlook.EXE /cleanreminders

See if that helps.

Many thanks your suggestion cured the problem first time. The hardest part
of the solution was finding where they had hidden the run command in Windows
vista.
